Internet fax service allows NPOs to save time and reduce costs while making their operations greener
OTTAWA (Business Wire EON/PRWEB ) December 2, 2008 — MyFax, the world’s fastest-growing Internet fax service, today announced that it has entered into a partnership with TechSoup, the top technology aggregator and portal for non-profit organizations (NPOs). As a result of this partnership, the Internet fax service is providing 500 free, one-year “seats” for TechSoup to give away to environmental organizations, libraries and others that meet the prerequisite conditions. In addition, MyFax will be available to all government-recognized NPOs, at a discounted rate directly through MyFax (http://www.myfax.com/techsoup/).

“We are very committed to helping non-profit organizations operate more efficiently,” said Joseph Nour, CEO of Protus, provider of MyFax. “We’re making that commitment tangible by giving a free, one-year subscription to qualified NPOs that are committed to making their offices greener and/or more efficient by using MyFax.”
MyFax Internet fax service allows organizations of all types to send and receive faxes electronically via their standard e-mail account or a secure online server anywhere they can get an Internet connection. This method of delivery simplifies management by virtually eliminating paper documents. With MyFax, NPOs can preview and read inbound faxes on their PCs or other devices, as well as forward, store them and print only select documents. Organizations save time and money, increase efficiency and improve their ability to document transactions without the risk of paper being lost or accidentally thrown away.
MyFax also allows NPOs to operate “greener.” In addition to eliminating the requirement to print every fax, MyFax helps these organizations reduce energy consumption. The US EPA lists fax machines at the top of office equipment considered “energy vampires” – equipment that continually consumes power, whether it is in use or not. With a MyFax account, inbound faxes are automatically delivered and queued to the MyFax server. When users access their e-mail or MyFax Central accounts, the faxes are delivered automatically; eliminating the need to leave a special machine on 24/7 on the chance a fax might be received.
As further evidence of its desire to help NPOs create greener offices, MyFax is participating in TechSoup’s GreenTech Reduce Paper Use Challenge. The Challenge is a fun and beneficial contest to reward organizations for taking steps to reduce the use of paper. For its part, MyFax is providing a five-year, $10 per month credit to one organization chosen at random from those GreenTech determines to have successfully fulfilled the Reduce Paper Use Challenge. More details on the contest can be found at www.techsoup.com/greentech/paper.
MyFax also recently participated in a Webinar on reducing paper consumption conducted by TechSoup. In addition to sponsoring the event, MyFax vice president Steve Adams was part of the panel discussing ways NPOs can reduce the amount of paper they use. An on-demand replay of the Webinar can be heard by going to https://cc.readytalk.com/cc/schedule/display.do?udc=3ps65cwp57jn, and clicking on the link under “Recordings.”
“MyFax has always been a supporter of the good works being performed by non-profit organizations,” Nour said. “We also realize that in these challenging times they need help more than ever. By partnering with a great organization like TechSoup we are making it easier for NPOs to take advantage of the many benefits MyFax has to offer, especially helping them reduce their overhead and operate more efficiently. Everyone wins – including the public at large.”
