A humidifier is a residence piece of equipment used to raise the level of air moisture inside. To answer the question – How does a humidifier operate? to begin with we need to know why it is needed.

In parts of the globe where there are four seasons, the cold weather can be uncomfortable due to the amount of water vapor presentin the air. Humidity is a measure of that water vapor in the atmosphere. When the humidity level is up there, it means the air is in fact holding plenty of water and can not absorb anymore. Thus we do not perspire and one feels hotter than it actually is. However when humidity is lower, it means the air can absorb larger amounts moisture in, so we sweat more quickly and the air sucks in the water vapor. Therefore one feels colder than we should.

So then,how does a humidifier work? Basically the humidifier filters water vapor into the air so that the humidity level will go up. When the humidity is increaded, water canÂ’t turn into vapor. Moisture in oneÂ’s body as well as in objects will then raise and one feels warmer.

There are different types of humidifiers. Therefore, how does a humidifier work? It depends on what type it is.

Evaporation.

This type of humidifier has two main parts: a fan and a wet base. The fan blows air across the wet area. The air then moves the water vapor along with it and disperses it across the place. If you utilize a humidifier of this type, ensure you keep the wet pad clean to dodge bacterial contamination.

Steam or Vaporizers.

A vaporizer puts in water vapor to the atmosphere via releasing steam. It has a container where water is heated to vapor and then let go. Any left over minerals are of course remain when the water evaporates. The benefit of this type of humidifier is that it kills bacteria during the boiling process, so it is cleaner.

Warm Mist.

This humidifier is pretty much the same as a vaporizer. However before transmitting steam into an area, the system cools it down first. The result is then warm misty air.

Cool Mist

A cool mist humidifier operates by expelling water droplets into the room. Of course this is only as sterile as the water that is put into it, since the liquid is not boiled.

Ultrasonic

This humidifier uses high-frequency sound waves to break up and expel tiny water droplets into the air. Much of the bacteria are killed in the process, but not all.

It is a good thing to know how a humidifier operates. The use of a humidifier may allow one be more comfortable during cold weather. It will also help humidity-sensitive perishables; for example wood, wine as well as cigars to last longer. Use the right type for your family and have a warmer winter.
