[BAK2u] Lost & Found Portal (Coming soon)
Almost everyday, we will receive either emails or calls about a non-customer losing their gadgets. It can be a cell phone, pda phone or a laptop (which netbook is climbing fast).
As much as we would love to assist them in getting back the lost devices, we knew there is only so much we can do as the mobile security software are not pre-installed. We cant go around telling them that because you didn’t have the software, we cant assist you. That be very nasty.
Overtime, we came up with an idea that perhaps may help to increase the chances of a recovery for anyone that may lose or found any devices and to match make them together via BAK2u.com website. We discussed with some local and overseas authorities about it and frankly, the red tapes are not helping even if we are to set it up for them with no reference to BAK2u.
Anyway, we take matters to our own hands and decided the heck with it, we do it ourselves and place it at BAK2u website instead working with no authorities on this.
We are in the midst of setting it up doing some testings here and there. But here’s a sneak of how it works:
BAK2u Lost & Found
If someone loses a phone, he can proceed to the page and report his lost phone.
Similarly, someone who found a phone can also go to the same page, click the “I Found a phone button” and report that he found something.
This will look through both the lost and found tables to find potential matches.
If a potential match is found, an email will be sent to the admin email.
In that email to the admin, the admin can decide to either approve or deny the match. If he approves it, both the person who reported lost and found will receive an email with the other person’s email address and mobile number (as they had input when they made the report.)
