Customer feedback:

1. I found the camera controls on the UltraHD to be slightly easier to operate vs. the touch sensitive buttons on the MinoHD. As far as video quality between the two, I compared two different videos and both are about the same, however, the colors appear to be slightly more vibrant with the UltraHD.
If you are trying to decide which one to purchase, if maximum portability is important to you than the MinoHD is the better choice. Otherwise, if you’re looking compact camcorder with more features (HDMI output, replaceable batteries, longer record time) then you can’t go wrong with the UltraHD.

2. Purchased this as a gift to replace a larger Sony camcorder that died waaay too prematurely. The recipient is someone who has zero patience to read user manuals, is not overly intuitive when it comes to electronics, and is easily frustrated. She was up and running with this in under three minutes – no lie. For her the ease of use and the size/portability of the device outweigh more features and a better zoom. That this plugs directly into a USB port without another cable, is rechargable through the USB connection and does not need a charging cable, and does not need an additional memory card is a big bonus since she is also prone to losing cables, chargers, memory cards, etc. For what this device is – a small, easy to use, self-contained basic camcorder – it fits her needs very well.
