CityTech to Present Webinar on Modernizing Legacy Applications Using JBoss Seam
CityTech, Inc., a Chicago-based IT consultancy, shares how it leveraged the Red Hat JBoss Seam framework to rapidly modernize legacy applications in the March 23 JBoss webinar: “Accelerating Legacy Application Modernization Using the JBoss Seam Framework.”
(Vocus/PRWEB ) March 19, 2010 — CityTech, Inc., a Chicago-based IT consultancy and Red Hat JBoss Advanced Business Partner, will present the March 23, 2010 JBoss technology webinar, “Accelerating Legacy Application Modernization Using the JBoss Seam Framework.” Jeff Brown, Senior CityTech Java Architect, will lead this webinar along with Stewart Anderson, North American Channel Sales and Development, JBoss Middleware, Red Hat.
In this presentation, participants will learn how CityTech leveraged the JBoss Seam framework to rapidly modernize legacy applications. Mr. Brown will explain how Seam simplifies the modernization process. A general strategy for migrating legacy applications to web-based platforms using Seam will also be presented. Participants will hear a real case study of how CityTech used Seam to transform a legacy Microsoft Access application to an enterprise-caliber Seam-based web application.
“JBoss Seam is ideal for organizations that are being asked to upgrade their existing Oracle Forms applications because they are: client based, require a custom Java applet, or the interface needs to be upgraded to improve the customer’s web experience. Seam also works in cases where a Microsoft Access application, originally intended for one or two people, has evolved into a more critical application for the organization. The data then is required at the departmental and/or enterprise level and must be available via a browser. Though there is no silver bullet, Seam will automate parts of this migration and, in doing so, reduce development costs and time to production. The end result is a native web application with a rich user interface that runs on a proven and scalable infrastructure such as JBoss AS,” Brown says.
This webinar will be presented on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at 2pm EST. Registration is now open on the Red Hat JBoss website.
